Understanding Gold, Tickets & Gems

Every collection needs a little spending money!

Discover Karuta's three main currencies, how to obtain them, what they're used for, and how to manage your resources as a beginner.

✦

Karuta has several currencies used for collecting, trading, upgrading, and customizing cards. Three of the most important currencies you'll encounter as a beginner are Gold, Tickets, and Gems.

Understanding how they work will help you decide what to save, spend, or trade as your collection grows.

They can be used to purchase useful items and are frequently accepted in player-to-player trades.

Currency Common Uses How to Obtain
Gold General game activities and transactions Daily rewards, activities, trading
Tickets Extra Drops, Extra Grabs, player trading Voting, trading, events
Gems Premium items and customization Purchasing, trading, rewards

▸ Can you trade currencies?

Yes! Karuta's trading system allows players to exchange supported currencies and items.

However, exchange rates are not permanently fixed.

For example, the number of gems another player offers for one ticket can change depending on supply and demand.

▸ Tips for beginners:

  • Claim your daily gold whenever it's available.
  • Vote regularly to build up your ticket balance.
  • Save tickets until you understand their trading value.
  • Compare prices before buying items from other players.
  • Avoid spending gems impulsively on cosmetics you may not use.
  • Remember that valuable cards can sometimes be traded for currencies.

▸ Do you need to spend real money?

No! You can enjoy Karuta, collect cards, trade, and participate in many activities without purchasing gems.

Premium purchases are optional, and patient players can build valuable collections through regular gameplay and trading.
