Understanding Prints, Editions & Wishlist
Every card is a little different, and the details make collecting even more exciting!
Learn what card print numbers, editions, and wishlist counts mean, and how they influence collecting and trading in Karuta.
Print numbers, editions, and wishlist counts are three important details you'll encounter in Karuta. Understanding them will help you recognize different cards and discover which characters other players are interested in collecting.
01 Understanding Print Numbers
Every card has a print number, showing its position in the sequence of copies printed for that character and edition.
For example, Print #25 means the card was the 25th copy printed for that character's edition.
▸ Common print categories:
| Category | Print Range |
|---|---|
| Single Print (SP) | 1–9 |
| Low Print (LP) | 10–99 |
| Mid Print (MP) | 100–999 |
| High Print (HP) | 1000+ |
Print numbers are specific to each character and edition. Two different editions of the same character can both have a Print #1.
02 Understanding Card Editions
Karuta releases different editions of character cards, each featuring its own artwork.
▸ What should you know about editions?
- Editions are identified by numbers.
- A character can have cards from multiple editions.
- Each edition features different artwork.
- Every character's edition has its own print-number sequence.
- New editions may be introduced as Karuta releases additional artwork.
▸ Example:
A character's Edition 1 card and Edition 5 card feature different artwork, even though they represent the same character.
Edition numbers identify artwork releases. They don't automatically indicate a card's rarity or value.
03 Understanding Wishlist Counts
A character's wishlist count (WL) shows how many players have added that character to their wishlist.
Wishlist counts help you understand which characters are popular among Karuta players.
▸ Looking up a character:
k!lookup <character name>klu <character name>Example: klu Gojo Satoru
Replace the example with the name of the character you want to look up.
▸ What does wishlist tell you?
- Higher WL generally indicates greater player interest.
- Wishlist counts can increase or decrease over time.
- Characters with high WL may attract more attention during card drops.
Wishlist counts reflect character popularity, not individual card prices. They are also different from a card's print number.
